It is challenging to mention THE TOP SKILLS FOR ENTREPRENEURS OF THE FUTURE in an era of the disruption of standards. There is no accurate prediction about what skills entrepreneurs will need to redeem in the near future.

PART 1 of this article has a provocative purpose, to explore firstly 10 skill areas where we believe that entrepreneurs will need to seek in the future.

PART 2 of this article, we seek to deepen the analysis in each of these areas, listing value propositions (traditional and new) where we believe they will follow the entrepreneur in this new journey.

The Industry 4.0 is considerably impacting the dynamics of the world of work where new demands will emerge while some will cease to exist. Researches show that the impacts of this new era are in fact promising. Automation will create more jobs rather than be extinguished.

Within this scenario, in 2018 the World Economic Forum published The Future of Jobs Report 2018 to present trends about the future of work and its impacts on business and society. Subjects such as robotization, adoption of new technologies, company strategy and its respective segments, workforce, new product demand is thoroughly presented in the report.

Although we live in a complex world full of uncertainties, the report gives us a direction to follow as it serves as the basis for pursuing new projects, seeking new skills and even creating new businesses.

Despite this reading being a little dense (there are 147 pages divided into 2 parts. PART 1 | PREPARING THE FUTURE WORKFORCE; and PART 2 | INDUSTRY AND COUNTRY/REGION PROFILES), the prediction for 2022 of the top 10 skill demands for the professional of the future caught our attention.

Should we develop these skills in the short term or should we wait to develop them in the coming years?

The skills for the professional of the future are mostly also skills needed by every entrepreneur on their journey.

Based on these top 10 skills listed in the report we will present their applicability to the entrepreneur profile.

What about you entrepreneur? Are you ready for the future?

As well as employees, entrepreneurs will also need to hone their skills to keep up with the needs of an emerging market of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Around this near reality, where multiple opportunities for entrepreneurship are part of everyday life, entrepreneurs becoming experts in a specific area and not sticking to other fields of knowledge may be a noncompetitive factor.

To endeavor in the future is not necessarily proposing the new but proposing what generates value and relevance to the market, especially to consumers.

We created an outline of what we believe to be relevant to the entrepreneur of the future and thus start a debate around the topic. This proposition aims to generate a constant improvement, making the reflection relevant.
