The Experience And Value Acquired From Andela Learning Community Program.

With the recent advancement in technology in the world , there is need for us to acquit yourself with the available technological knowledge. I, Osayi Simeon is a person that is so passionate about being a computer literate in all ramification, thus when I was notified that there was a program called Andela learning community program, I delve into the opportunity and applied for it. The requirement for you to be a candidate of this program was like the ten commandments in the bible and definitely it must be kept even though I was very conscious that it is not going to be an easy exercise.

At the commencement of the program after been successfully selected as a candidate for the program, I felt so happy because it was like a dream come true ‘finally I am exploring the programming world’. The working environment was so welcoming that I felt like a bride meeting a good mother-in-law. there were several meetups which I had to attend despite the many constraints that were on my way. Been present at the physical meet-up always makes me feel like been with my family even though there were new it helped groom the spirit of togetherness, team-work and readiness to learn. The fascinating thing about the meet-up is that there is always refreshment in between code sessions and that alone makes me fell like the meet-up should not end because it renews my strength. I developed a very strong team-working spirit and group work.

At the notification for a new year challenge during the cause of the program, though the timing was not so convenient for such call but it’s importance was to make us steadfast in our learning and I never relent in it. Although the time of completion wasn't so big but sometimes when working under pressure helps our brain to work faster than normal which trains the brain and also fun. Also this new year challenge made me to realize the importance of team work, cooperation and that there is greatness in humbling oneself to ask questions whenever you are confused.

Attending several meet-ups; 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0 respectively has really been a great experience thus far because as a corps member in Ekiti state the only family I know and I have is the place of my primary assignment but now I can proudly say I have another programming family here in Ekiti state which is the ALC Ekiti 2017 program family. I have felt what it means to be tutored, monitored and taught all that I need to know as a Web-Beginners. All thanks to Andela Learning Community (ALC) for creating such program because this program has really touched my life and has brought out my love for computer programs and am happy that am putting to use the spirit of focus dedication to work and a good spirit of team work.

Am a slave to knowledge, and if you are not ready to be a slave to knowledge you are not ready to learn. Computer has made the world a global village while Andela Learning Community is making computer programmers available all over the world. Thank you Andela, Udacity, Ekiti ALC team.
