The Alternate Reality of the Dems Impeachment Gambit

It truly does boggle the mind that anyone can take these proceedings seriously. This made for TV production feels more like an episode of The Twilight Zone than congressional action.

Democrats have made a mockery of our laws and Constitution in their desperate attempt at revenge for the 2016 election. They say no one is above the law, except for them.

Even as they proclaim their support and defense of the Constitution, they shred all the basic principles it puts forth regarding equal justice. The high bar established for pursuing impeachment is now merely a Mad Magazine cartoon.

No one needs a talking head or biased journalist to form a coherent opinion about these efforts.

To begin with, they had to change house rules to manipulate the process to their liking. Republicans and President Trump cannot provide witnesses or cross-examine witnesses who have not witnessed anything.

Although house rules demand a minority day where Republicans would be able to make their case, Democrats have ignored this.

As the show has shifted to the judiciary committee, minority rights have been restricted further. Dems withhold information and hold hearings with short notice and little time to prepare. The chair has full control over their participation.

Not only that, to this point, no witnesses have even been called to the judiciary proceedings. We’ve heard expert opinions and staff recitations, but no witnesses.

Nancy Pelosi has offered for President Trump to make his case for his innocence, which in itself is unconstitutional. In America, it is not up to the defendant to prove their innocence.

But, when convenient, this is not a legal proceeding, they call it political. On the other hand, at times, it’s more convenient for this to be looked at as a legal action when it serves their purpose. I would say that they can’t have it both…
